Feng Shui Tip: Bring in the New Year

As the Chinese New Year approaches, now is the perfect time to use Feng Shui to clear old energy from your home and let go of the past.

1. Clutter. To our subconscious mind, clutter triggers images of stagnation, stuck energy and places where Life doesn’t move. It usually represents the things we are resisting and where we don’t want to put our attention. Clean the Clutter!

2. Corners. Feng shui teaches us to keep corners especially free of clutter as these are the places where the Life energy, or Ch’i, of our environment comes to a stop.  Put things in your corners that move energy: a fountain, wind chimes, or even a plant will keep the energy flowing.

3. Closets. They are the bowels of our homes and offices.  Clean them out! If you don’t use it, lose it. Don’t allow your closets to become black holes, or they will absorb your energy.

Personal Note from Pamela

We are so excited about how busy we are here at Room Redo! We have heard from so many of you who are already eager to work on your decorating and design projects this year and many of those are underway!

We are enjoying upgrading accessories for a lovely Bellaire home soon to be on the Homes Tour, continuing some wonderful photography and art installations and consulting on paint colors for several apartment complexes around the city.

Being this busy makes me want a little R & R so I am planning a quick getaway in early February. It will be to a place chock-full of fabulous design so stay tuned…..and, don’t forget to read the Feng Shui tip below. It’s Chinese New Year so you have another chance to get a great start to 2009!

Until next time, happy decorating!
