You can use Feng Shui to enhance your Thanksgiving for guests even before they walk in the door. Make sure the path to your home and the entrance is well-lighted, open and inviting. This welcomes guests, as well as prosperity and abundance, into your home.
Before Dinner
When offering a welcoming drink and snacks, create color balance in your display of food to enhance guests’ appetites. Consider serving the beige or off-white foods in festive bowls, and arrange a colorful vegetable tray for a healthy option.
During Dinner
Pay careful attention to the seating arrangement. A round table is best, but do not worry if your table is rectangular, just position it so everyone has enough space to sit. Try to avoid a buffet table or china cabinet with sharp corners pointing directly at guests? Corners create “poison arrows” known as Sha Chi or “killing energy.” In the short term, these could make the person sitting in their path feel uncomfortable. You can drape live greenery across a sharp corner to lessen the negative energy.
After Dinner
Many people like to retire to the living room to watch football, but consider other social activities you can enjoy while the game plays in the background, like board games or a puzzle. Remember to snap lots of photos and share them with your guests after the event. A long walk or touch football is also fun and helps digest that meal!

When planning your Thanksgiving table, decide what look you prefer. A classic style will use traditional elements, while a modern table might use only a harvest color scheme. With any style, consider these three tips for Thanksgiving themed table settings.
Bring in fall color with accent pieces such as napkins, place cards and flowers.
Include one item that is specifically for Thanksgiving – mini cornucopias as place card holders or a salad plate with a turkey image.
Add an element of surprise to the table setting whether it is simply a square dinner plate or the unexpected use of a common item like tree bark used as chargers.
Easy Thanksgiving Centerpieces
A centerpiece plays a big part in decorating a table and helps set the holiday mood. For Thanksgiving centerpieces, here are three ideas:
A cornucopia is a classic Thanksgiving decoration, and it is perfect for a traditional table. You can later use the fruits and vegetables in cooking.
Create a stunning floral with colorful mums and wheat stalks tied with ribbon.
Line pumpkins of different shapes and sizes down your table or table runner for a simple and more contemporary centerpiece.
Tip: Remember to choose a centerpiece that is appropriate for the holiday table. Serving food on a buffet or counter allows for a more elaborate centerpiece, but with all of the food on the table itself, a smaller design might be best.

Feng shui for fall season is a gentle transition from the care-free and fiery feng shui element energy of the summer season to a slow, deep and inward energy of winter (water element.)
Is the feng shui of your home ready for this transition? Do you know how to use feng shui and space clearing for a healthy and gentle transition for yourself and for your home?
Ceremony: Ceremonies are created to honor life, seasons, and various aspects of life. Make time for ceremony in your life: use candles, scents, music, sacred items and symbols for healing and inspiration. Burning a candle each night and ceremonially letting the problems and worries of the day burn in the fire, is a simple ceremony that keeps the energies of your home clean and clear of the burdens of the day.
Cycles: There is a rhythm to everything in life. There is a time for growth, and a time for death. Cycles are important to observe: for example, the moon cycles are often used for planting, cutting hair, or beginning new projects. When we consciously align ourselves and our homes with the cycles of nature, we find more harmony and balance in our lives. We can use feng shui in making our homes a sanctuary, a place to achieve our highest intentions and dreams and haven to comfort us through the cold and long nights of winter.
